Increasing Supplier Diversity
Pathways Access Initiative (PAI) aims to support U.S. corporations seeking supplier diversity and inclusion in Latin America by identifying, training and certifying women-owned businesses that qualify as diverse suppliers of goods and services. The program is part of Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas. PAI is a joint initiative between the State Department, USAID and WEConnect International.
WEConnect International WEConnect International, a corporate-led non-profit, helps build sustainable communities and economic growth by empowering women business owners to succeed in global markets. Since 2009, WEConnect International has provided certification, resources, mentoring and peer/corporate connections to businesses based outside the United States that are at least 51 percent owned, and managed and controlled by one or more women. WEConnect International's corporate members represent $700 billion in annual purchasing power and are true pioneers in inclusive sourcing and global supplier development. WEConnect International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that seeks and accepts grants and donations from governments, corporations, foundations and individuals to support its mission and programs.
The Department of State launched the Pathways Access Initiative (PAI) in Peru on February 25, 2011. The program is part of Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas, and its goal is to help connect U.S. businesses with women-owned businesses (WOBs) in Peru.Qualified women entrepreneurs will be recruited, trained and certified by WEConnect International, the non-governmental organization that will serve as implementer of PAI. WEConnect International partners these entrepreneurs with U.S. corporations through a global online, bilingual portal.Pathways Access Initiative (PAI) aims to support U.S. corporations seeking supplier diversity in Latin America by certifying women-owned businesses qualified to support these companies with goods for same as well as products and services needed in the operation of their businesses. The WEConnect network represents over US$700 billion in annual purchasing power. Members are true pioneers in global supplier development and inclusion with a commitment to sourcing from women-owned businesses.
